Good news!  Thrifty Foods has just approved our application to continue in the SMILE CARD program. The amount we are limited to fundraising is once again $1500 for the year. We reached last year’s limit in February. Your SMILE card will start realizing a 5% of your purchase as a donation to St. Mary’s STARTING April 29th. Thank you for participating in the program! 

New tablecloths purchase.  We are buying some new tablecloths (card table size) for special occasions and events. They are $8.50 each if anyone wants to help out by paying for one, please see Elaine Cowan.

THIS WEEK The Celebration of Life for Judy Doyle tomorrow, Friday April 26 at 3pm.  Parishioners are welcome! We need people to help sing!  The Celebration of Life service for Jean Fowler is Sunday, April 28th at 1pm with a reception following. Selinde will provide a simple lunch for those wanting to stay on after Sunday service in order to attend. 

Pick up your May Calendar in church on Sunday at the end of the service.

Selinde is on break next week April 29 – May 3rd.  In case of emergency, call your People’s Warden, Val Davies. 

May 1 at 7pm at  St. Paul’s in Nanaimo -  an information evening about EfM (Education for Ministry).  This is for prospective students. Everyone is welcome.  There will be current students and graduates as well as some mentors.  You can expect to find out in detail what is involved in EfM, its purpose, the format of the meetings, the texts that are in use, and the costs. Some of our parishioners have been or are involved in EfM - Pat Nicoll, Graham Fowler, Jean Christopher, Cindy Corrigan – so talk to them if you want to know more. 

May 4th at 5pm   St. Mary’s Spaghetti  Cabaret!  The event ¾ sold out, so if you don’t have yours, get your ticket on Sunday!  Rehearsal is May 4; 1-3pm 

May 5th at 10am  Rev. Jim Holland, Selinde’s husband will be preaching about his recent visit to Nepal. 

May 5th after service:  Training for ALL offertory counters (current and new) to learn the new system. RSVP to Clair Davies – val_air@telus.net 

May 5 at 1:30     Celebration of life for Doreen Pettigrew with reception following.
