NOTICES  Aug. 5, 2018

If you haven’t already, remember to pick up your August calendar. If you would like one emailed to you, please contact KAT in the office. 

Our next Community Dinner is Monday August 20.  The feast this month is pulled pork, coleslaw & all the fixings.  Mark your calendar!  We can always use a few extra hands too.  Please let Elaine know.  

If you shop at Thrifty Foods, you can support St. Mary’s in such an easy way. Simply ask one of the wardens or Selinde for a SMILE card. You load it up/put money on it at the Thrifty’s cashier, and then use it as a credit card when you shop.  5% of every purchase you make goes directly to St. Mary’s. What a fantastic fundraiser!  

The Parish Directory done!!  Plan to pick yours up this Sunday. The amount requested to help with printing costs was incorrect last week. We are asking for $7.00.  Please note: payment can be made on Sunday in the Hall.  Please do NOT put in your envelop on Sunday. The amount is not tax receiptable.  

The front office is missing a beige scotch tape dispenser.  If you have it, or know where it is, could you please let KAT know?  Thanks.  

New FRIDGE procedure in place. When you put a food or beverage item in the fridge/freezer, please write the date you opened it on a sticker and put that sticker on the item. Otherwise it’s difficult to know how long food and drink languish in the fridge/freezer. Thanks for your cooperation.  

Bible Study continues throughout August – Wednesdays at 10:30 in in the library.  Thank you, Trefor, for leading.    

Our Flower Fund is depleted. Donating flowers for the altar is a wonderful way to bring colour and beauty into the church and to honour your loved ones, living or dead. Sign up for a Sunday on the Altar Flower Calendar in the Hall and follow the directions there for what you need to do.  

If you are interested in viewing the Parish Council minutes and the financial statements, they are always posted on the board outside Selinde’s office. 

Prayer Circle – If you have a prayer request, please contact the office forwarding information for the prayer circle.  You can also contact Selinde if you would like to serve on the Prayer Circle as someone who is willing to pray for those requesting prayer. 

MUSIC SUGGESTION BEAR – Do you have a hymn you would love to have sung in church on a Sunday? Drop your recommendation in the Music Suggestion Bear on Margaret’s piano. If it’s not in our Common Praise hymn book, please either leave your name or the music on your suggestion card. The Music Team will do their best to incorporate your choice into the liturgy. We can’t promise, but we’ll do our best! Thank you.
