Yellow envelopes for PWRDF  This Sunday we celebrate Thanksgiving and in your Offering Envelope Box you will find a yellow envelope to use for a extra special donation. This year we will donate the Thanksgiving offerings to PWRDF, the Primate’s World  Relief and Development Fund.

This past Sunday we celebrated the Feast of St. Francis. We dedicated the Pet Memorial Garden (PMG) to him and to the Glory of God. Keep your eyes peeled for an article on the PMG in next Wednesday’s PQB News.  And an hour later, we held the Blessing of the Animals in the garden. Both celebrations were well attended and lovely.

As we prepare for Thanksgiving this Sunday, consider Francis’ Sermon to the Birds:

My little sisters, much bound are you to God, your Creator, and always in every place ought you to praise Him, for He gives you liberty to fly about everywhere, and He gives you the element of the air which He hath appointed for you; beyond all this, you sow not, neither do you reap; and God feeds you, and gives you the streams and fountains for your drink; the mountains and valleys for your refuge and the high trees in which to make your nests; and because you know not how to spin or sow, God clothes you, you and your children; your Creator loves you very much, seeing that He has bestowed on you so many benefits; and therefore, my little sisters, beware of the sin of ingratitude, and strive always to give thanks and praises unto God.

Next CARE TEAM meeting: Monday Oct 19th at 11:00am

Don’t forget to let KAT know if you plan to attend church on Sunday. Those who call or email by Thursday at 2pm are assured a place. If you have reserved a seat, come by Sunday morning. Chances are you will be able to be seated.

This Joke was submitted by Mary H:

Claude sent in this joke:

Three boys are in the school yard bragging about their fathers.

The first boy says, 'My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, they give him $50.'

The second boy says, 'That's nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a song, they give him $100.'

The third boy says, 'I got you both beat. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon, and it takes 8 people to collect all the money!
