From the Rector’s Desk

Friends,

Well the time has come for yet another change to occur in the office, as if all travel goes to plan, Kat will be returning to us in the office next week. With this change, we will see the office hours shift back to the usual Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am - 4pm hours (noting the office will be closed Tuesday in lieu of Thanksgiving Monday). It will be good to have someone in the office with more regular hours again, and I'm sure we will all welcome Kat and look forward to hearing her travel stories upon her return.

But with that said, I also want to extend a huge thank you to Elizabeth for coming on board to help us out these last 8 weeks! It has been a real joy for me personally to have Elizabeth in the office, as she and I have known one another for over 20 years and have shared many, MANY stories and adventures together over the years. Elizabeth and I have taken youth to camp, made our Cursillo together, done road trips, celebrated family birthdays and holiday meals - she was even a bridesmaid at my wedding!! So for me it has been a real joy and a great comfort to have her cheerful, welcoming, creative energy in the office these last few months. Elizabeth has done a great job learning the ropes at St. Mary's and thankfully Kat left a wonderfully detailed list of passwords and procedures to follow, which was a big help.

So thank you Elizabeth for coming alongside us for a time and fitting us into your schedule to help us keep the church running smoothly while our Kat has been away. You have been a HUGE help to me personally as I have been back and forth between my churches, as I knew that everything at St. Mary's was in very good hands in Kat's absence.

I know that many of you have enjoyed getting to know Elizabeth and I'm sure we will see her again sometime, but for now let us give thanks - and get ready to welcome Kat back to the office next week!!

Office Closed for Thanksgiving

Rev. Kirsten is feeling better, so that means bible study is back. Join her in exploring the readings for Harvest Thanksgiving. Bible Study is held every Wednesday at 10:30am. Join the fun and delve into scripture!

    Harvest Thanksgiving

Please join us this Sunday, October 13th for our Harvest Thanksgiving Service, starting at 10am.

Thank You

The past two months have gone by so quickly. As my time at St. Mary’s comes to an end, I would like to thank everyone for the welcome and support you offered during my time in the office. I appreciate the patience as I learned the systems here, and the ready answers whenever I had a question.  I have enjoyed getting to know the people of St. Mary’s and look forward to visiting in the future.

Blessings, Elizabeth Razzo

Intersections & Funeral Workshop – Cancelled

Due to a lack of interest, we will unfortunately be cancelling the Intersections Dialogue Series offering this fall. We simply did not have enough participants for a robust and viable program. However, we will be trying again in the spring so stay tuned!

Elizabeth Northcott has also cancelled the Oct 21 workshop "Lets sing our favourite Funeral Hymns" due to a lack of interest and conflict of timing. However, Rev. Elizabeth and I encourage those who are interested to attend the upcoming workshop being offered by Deacon Rev. Lynn Cawthra, on preparing for death and dying. More info will come soon.
