FROM THE RECTOR'S DESK:
Dear Friends in Christ,
As Easter quickly approaches, the world prepares to walk the way of the Cross and commemorate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. For those with busy schedules and never-ending to-do lists, throughout this week we are asked to pause for a moment and remember the reason for this festive season. Our Sunday celebrations truly are celebratory as we will gather with shouts of "He is Risen" and commemorate this pivotal moment in history, where the world was changed forever.
However, for us on this side of the resurrection, we know how the story ends and yet it is still important for us to experience the story in its entirety. For our Easter celebrations remind us of the light that casts out darkness, of hope winning out over despair, and life that triumphs over death. This is why we come together to celebrate this weekend, to rejoice in the power of a God whose love for all of creation changes everything.
For us, Easter celebrations represent the culmination of God's divine plan for humanity, offering profound hope, forgiveness, and the assurance of salvation. As we gather as community over the coming days, may our gatherings become a sacred opportunity for spiritual renewal, collective worship, and joyful celebration, inspiring hearts with the enduring message of God's boundless love and grace for us all.
With peace and blessings for the season,
Kirsten +

During this time Linda will be in the office and the wardens will be available should you need anything. Also, for pastoral emergencies, Rev. Alan Naylor will be available and will be taking the service on Sunday April 27th.
ALTAR FLOWERS:
This Saturday, April 19th, we will be decorating the church for Easter. Everyone is Welcome!
CELEBRATING BIRTHDAYS and ANNIVERSARIES AT ST. MARY'S:
As some of you may have noticed, we are beginning to explore new and meaningful ways to celebrate birthdays within the parish as a community. Acknowledging birthdays and anniversaries in our community is important, so over the next few months we will be experimenting with how we can best honour these monthly celebrations in a truly deserving manner. So far, we are including the names of people celebrating birthdays and anniversaries in Our Notices at the beginning of each month. Additionally, Linda has created a sign to display in the narthex and on the treat table during coffee hour. These signs will remain in place on Sundays displaying the names of those celebrating throughout the month. We have also created a sign-up list that is hanging in the hall, for folks to bring in a celebration cake to share on the last Sunday of the month. This will operate much like our flower roster. If you would like to sign up to bring a cake, please add your name to the list outside Kirsten’s office in the hall. As we continue to explore new and innovative ways to celebrate the members in our community, we ask for your patience. Updates will be provided as we continue through this creative process, so stay tuned!
