Selinde is again away on holiday until Tuesday, September 3. If you have a pastoral emergency or concern,  or if you have a prayer request, please contact your People’s Warden, Val Davies. Cindy is on holiday now until mid- September. 

If you missed church on Sunday or didn’t catch something during the Announcements, the Announcements are posted on the bulletin board by Selinde’s office. So are the Parish Council Minutes and Selinde’s Rector’s Reports.  As well, Selinde and Cindy’s sermons are posted regularly on our website.

On SUNDAY we celebrate our Patronal Feast Day with a bunwich lunch and some games.  Who is our patron and what is her feast day?  Mary, the mother of Jesus, is our patron saint (hence the name of our church) and there are many feast days celebrating her in the Roman Church calendar. Community Dinner coming up in 8 days: Monday, August 19th – Delicious Pulled Pork and all the fixings. Please consider helping out and sign up in the Hall on Sunday. 

We really need some people to step up and help out in the following ways (training provided!):
1.    Altar Guild is short a person or two. If you would enjoy a meditative practice of setting up the altar for communion on Sunday, and can spare an hour or two once a month, this is a rewarding way of serving your community and God. Please speak to Marrianna or Selinde if you are interested. 
2.    Assistant to the Treasurer: Jennifer Birchall-Creighton lives in Mexico during the winter months so we need to find someone to help out in her absence. She will be keeping track and providing oversight via the internet but someone on the ground here in Nanoose would be helpful. Please speak to Jennifer or Selinde if you can help out. 
3.    KAT will be away visiting her family from Sept. 10 – Oct. 8. Selinde could use some help in the front office on Wednesdays when the phone and people traffic is the busiest. If you could commit to being available to answer the phone and receive people on Wednesdays between 9:30am and 12:30pm, KAT will train you. Thank you! Please speak to KAT or Selinde.
