WONDERFUL NEWS!

Our property here at St. Mary’s has been officially subdivided which means we can now apply for official status (and protection) for our Memorial Garden. Hats off to Elaine, Don and John O’Brien who served on the committee to see this through, and to the Diocese that footed the bill for the surveying and other costs.

If you would like to attend church this Sunday, please register with KAT by 2pm tomorrow or by 2pm each Thursday. We are limited to the number we can accommodate so please make sure to reserve your seat.

HAS ANYONE SEEN THE ORANGE CONSTRUCTION CONES BY THE DISABLED PARKING SIGNS recently? They are MIA!  Please let Don or KAT if you have any information.

READERS Needed! We need readers who are bubbled together to share the mic and do the Sunday readings and the Prayers of the People. To date, I’ve only identified 2 couples who are bubbled (meaning sharing time/space in close proximity) who can do this. If you can help out, please let Selinde or KAT know.

ANYONE INTERESTED IN SEWING MASKS?  Someone has contacted us to let us know they have part of a bolt of new black bamboo fabric that would be perfect – all they request in return is a couple of masks. Please let KAT in the office know and she will put you in touch with them.

A THANK-YOU NOTE FROM DEANA

Dearest St. Mary’s Family,

My adventure on Vancouver Island began in June 2012 and while it has not been quite as long as I had hoped it has been wonderful.  I absolutely love living here!

Now I return to the “frozen prairie” to be with family which I have been missing more and more in past couple of years.  Each time I visited it was harder to leave them.  My first great grandchild (a boy who will be named Elias) is due any day now and #11 grandchild is due in November.    So I leave happy in the thought that I will have lots of opportunities to spend time with my large family, Sunday dinners, Christmas gatherings and getting to know some of the wee ones better.

With that comes the sadness I feel at leaving all of you.  My eyes filled with tears when I heard Don ring the bell on Sunday, realizing it may be for the last time.  I think I leave St. Mary’s a much kinder and gentler person, more thoughtful in my actions and in consideration of others.  This is due to all of you!  You are such a wonderful community and blessing and I will miss you so much.

It is my intention to visit as much as possible and to keep in touch.  Thank you for the good wishes both written and spoken on Sunday, I will keep in touch.  (For Deana's email, please ask KAT)

God Bless!
Deana Thomson
