Note from the Rector
Well my friends – if I have learned anything in my time with you – it is that things at St. Mary’s do not stay stagnant for very long! There are a few moving parts happening in the coming weeks in the office and some updates to bring to you all about things happening during the week.
First off – it is with much joy that I announce the Thinking Garden has now had their first week of operation at St. Mary’s with great success! We did have a few hiccoughs in the final days of preparation but the license came through and the center is now open! Children and staff arrived Tuesday morning and lived harmoniously with the Christmas Fair ladies as they began to sort items. I have even had the pleasure of witnessing just how high some of the children can jump, and had one of them offer me a bowl of “pumpkin soup” as I passed through the hall on the way to the kitchen. I am sure as we continue to work out how to live in harmony together there will be moments of discord along the way but the future looks bright.
Secondly, things in the office will be changing a little in the coming weeks. Our lovely KAT will be having surgery next Tuesday and be out of the office recovering for at least four weeks, and I will be taking 2 weeks’ vacation at the beginning of November. We are creating a contingency plan in the office for this time, and I will do my best to cover where I can. We have pre-printed bulletins and have readings ready etc., for these weeks but office work will be limited as I am in and out of the office in the coming weeks. Please know that if anything arises that is urgent, I or the wardens will do our best to address it, but some things may not be done as promptly or as well as when KAT is here. So I request your prayers for KAT’s speedy recovery and your patience as we move through this time.
Thank you all for your support and trust as we continue to grow together in God’s grace and love.
